What is new!!!
Wow…. past the half way point in the curent year and we have done so much already with more in the works. Lots of events coming up to some new places and some well visited. This tuesday we will be at Castletown in downtown Belleville for social hour and then a return to Bobbie’s Custard in Maryville on the 23rd. I hope everyone can join us for custard and good times. They usually have great entertainment. Then that brings us to August, or shall I say Balducci Month. Our first stop will be the 11th at the Winery Restaurant in Maryland Heights; and then a return to the winery in Augusta on the 27th for our annual fundraiser for Backstoppers. Hope everyone can make it. That is just to name a few things.
On the Mini side of things, they announced the release date for the Coupe’ and many motorsports updates. The Coupe’ will finally hit on October 1st but many can’t wait. To help bring the Coupe into its own they ran two cars at the endurance race at the Nurburgring. Both cars finidshed the event. Mini also finally got back into world rally racing with the Contryman. With the help of Prodrive they will be on a select schedule this year and plan to run the full season next year. Many small non-factory teams are already running. And to top off that a team put toghether a Countryman with a diesal motor for the Dakar Rally back in January. It held a strong ninth until a crash put them out the rest of the event. They will be back next year ready to go.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Stay cool and happy motoring.

Classic Car Show
They call it a “Cruise”, even though nobody cruises. The cruise is a classic car show (30 years old or older – no motorcycles) not judged, open to all makes and models.
The events are the first Friday of every month from April thru Oct. The event starts at 5:00, but cars line-up before 3:00 to get in. With good weather they will attract 400-500 cars.
The club has been doing this, in one way or another, for over 20 years. The Lions Club provides food and the Memories Car Club has a can drive for the local food pantries plus a 50/50 raffle at every event.

The cars are amazing! Custom hot rods, stock 60s muscle cars, model Ts, Packard limos, GTOs, Mustangs, racers, everything! Some are absolute jaw-droppers! Not to be missed!
